1. The first step is to schedule an appointment at our office. At this first meeting we will discuss the type of project being considered, a preliminary feasibility analysis, a discussion of how our process works, and a basic budget estimate along with a quotation for design services. To this point, there is no financial obligation on your part, but is rather, still considered part of your selection process. 2. The next step starts when you decide to go ahead with the design. You will be asked to enter into a contractual agreement for completion of the design phase of the project. The fees for such work vary from a few hundred dollars to as much as 10% of the project's value. This part of the relationship with Stevenson Design Works is documented so that there is a clear understanding as to what design work is to be performed and what the ultimate cost will be. At this point, we are ready to begin actual plans and specifications of your project. At the end of this stage, you will have completed plan specifications and a realistic budget estimate to complete the work on your project. company | custom homes | renovations | awards & articles | interior design | photo gallery | design/build | contact us | home | © 1999 - 2007 Stevenson Design Works. 3. The third step of the process is where you decide whether or not to continue with Stevenson Design Works for the construction portion of your project. You will have chosen all the materials for the job, reviewed all the plans, estimated and become comfortable with the thought of moving ahead. You should have also developed a sense of confidence in Stevenson Design Works and our design/build program. We will then proceed with a contract and schedule the start of your project.
